has anyone pulled the u shaped dinnet out and put a futon in its place on a 190. If so can you post some pictures a brief instructions

In essence, you are talking about turning the 190 into a 189. I can't help you with pictures or instructions. The dinette platform and frame would be easy to take out. The problem will be if you do so and put a futon in, you will also be removing your pass-through storage. You might want to look at the pictures of the 189 and see if you can figure out how to remove just the legs of the U leaving the back part in place and put the futon on top of that. You would lose some of your storage space in doing so, but if it makes things more to your liking, then go for it.
