Actually if you are towing an R-Pod you will not need to have any other than the stock mirrors.
The advantage of the R-Pods is that they are somewhat narrow. As for tire pressure I use 38 lbs both front and read and that seems to work just fine. My 2016 Durango does not have any auto leveler or anything other than the stock gearing and it works great.

The 2019 Durango width with mirrors is 0.7 inches wider than the 2012 Highlanders both TheBum and I currently have. I have no visibility problems at all with the standard Highlander mirrors. The Durango should be just fine with no modifications.

We tow with stock mirrors on our Dakota and the visibility is just fine. It's basically the same width as the Durangos. It's one of the advantages of an r-Pod.

+1. Love the narrow width for vis. Also, narrower width = lower frontal area = lower aero drag, which allows for moderate hp V6 engines like the Durango's and Highlander's to tow rPods effectively.

I haven't needed mirror extensions with my Highlander, so I may not need them with the Durango. I bought some and used them once, but the jitteriness of them plus the fact that I can just lean a little bit to see behind me made me give them up.
Weird. I'll have to look at the owner's manual I downloaded. I committed to the order Saturday. The salesman said that they actually found one in the US that would have been a close match, but it was from far away and the dealership wasn't willing to part with it. I did some Googling and I suspect it's one I found in Billings, Montana. |

Wow, weird indeed. In case anyone needs to know how to replace the battery, I found this page with a series of videos that play back to back illustrating the process.
https://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2011_Dodge_Durango_Crew_3.6L_V6_FlexFuel/battery/replace_battery As can be seen from the year in the URL, the Durango battery has been like this since 2011, the first year of the current generation. At least they had the presence of mind to include terminals under the hood for jump starting. |

Lots of cars have their batteries other places than in the engine bay. it might be done to save space, improve weight balance, keep the battery cooler, or other reasons. Not that unusual at all, nothing to be concerned about. Only thing you might be surprised about is the cost of that battery if its also a nonstandard design, my Prius 12V battery is in the back cargo area and costs a pretty penny I can assure you.

I tow my Pod with a 2005 Dodge Durango with the 5.7 hemi and I love it, never had any problems. I do not need mirror extenders.

Shane what mileage do you get towing and not towing? With my V-6 I get 25 at 75 not towing and 13-14 on level ground at 60.
