Just finishing a couple week stay at Myrtle Beach State Park campground. We had a nice site,a short walk to the beach and close to the hiking trails. The surf fishing was great caught red drum, black drum, flounder, blue fish, whiting and pompano!!
They have a really nice boardwalk along the beach an some nice old oaks trees along the walk ways.
Really nice!

We also hit Huntington Beach State Park while we were down here and really liked it! A little further to the beach , but the causeway and alligators made up for it!!

Be headed up to OBX for more fishing

Nice Leo! We haven't tried Myrtle Beach State Park, but love it down @ Huntington Beach State Park. Lots to do with Brookgreen Gardens, rice plantations, Murrells Inlet, etc. No surf fishing @ Huntington, but the backwater yak fishing is great.

Looking forward to going back early next year!

Re the OBX, highway 12 on Hatteras Island is (mostly) clear of salt water from Michael now, just got home to Hatteras Village yesterday. A little salt water was still on the road in Salvo/Waves yesterday, worst thing is the idiots who blast through it and spray salt all over your vehicle. No damage south of Salvo from Michael, all the National Seashore campgrounds are open.

Does anyone know how Henderson Beach (Destin) came out of the hurricane?

Leo B, if you're staying in Salvo/Waves/Rodanthe check in first, the tri villages there were the only part of the island to sustain any flooding damage from Michael. it was minor, so probably where you're staying is fine but you should confirm just to be sure.

Weather has cooled off quite a bit finally, and the post Florence skeeter overpopulation has abated dramatically, so all is good from a camping perspective!

I guess Leo is catching Blues and Puppydrums down in OBX now? It be interesting to know where he's staying there and the conditions? I know the Crystal coast area is not to good at all, my Aunt and Uncle lost their house in New Bern sadly. The boss and I have reservations, south of Charleston, at Edisto Island State Park and plan to put our Pumpkin out on Halloween there as we get sand between our toes. I wonder if Pumpkin makes good bait? LOL
