Nice fish!

Going to make up for it down on Cape Hatteras this fall!

Yeah, pretty slow here too. We spent week+ down to Huntington Beach State Park in Feb. Weather was great, but water was still too cold for reds and they had a major trout kill in December/January. Oh well, got some lines wet and landed a nice flounder in the yak.

The smallie in the pic above was from Lac McGregor - a beautiful lake north of Ottawa, CA. Lake was full of em. Driveway camped there for a few nights with friends on our way up to P.E.I. and then down east coast. Too busy exploring the island @ P.E.I. for fishing, but there are tons of trout possibilities in all the rivers. Nice trip!

So this past winter I made and installed my Rod Pod! It's great! Sits on top of 4Runner full-time now and I no longer hear, "Do you really need to bring all of those rods?" Ha! Yaks and rod pod look good!

We lost Henry, the camping cat and my great buddy, this past winter. That's pretty much when I stopped posting. It really, really sucked. Hoist a cold one to him.

HBSP is a great place.. we have a couple weeks planned down there for the 4th winter in a row this year..

Sorry about the loss of Henry.. losing pets is so hard. The only answer is to not have them.. and IMHO, that's the worst of the two options.

Thanks Leo and furpod!

It was a tough few months losing Henry, the camping cat, and Bob, our 27 year old community legend turtle! We're taking a timeout for a bit, but furry critters are definitely in our future. It is not an option.

HBSP really is a great park. This year was our second in a row. Who knew that the area was the largest worldwide exporter of rice at one time?! So much history and beauty. Not to mention biking, fishing and beach walking.

It's good to be back amongst like minded crazies and hope I can contribute. Besides, I'm determined to land a striper and/or red that will make Leo jealous!!
