Fridge Troubles: r-pod 171, 2009.
Plugged the fridge in at home preparing for trip, fridge was working fine off home AC, got to park setup and the fridge would not run off the parks 30 amp service. Has worked at other parks in the past. Lights, air and everything else was fine. It ran off the DC but left it on a low setting. Tried the LP mode however it just continued to flash and never started. Lit the burner on the stove to make sure there was flow. Never used LP for fridge before.
Got home, plugged it in and the AC flashed and then went off? Non of the breakers tripped and the fuses all looked fine.
One other thing, when I disconnected the AC at the park the LP Detector started going off however the propane had been turned off? This is the first trip in 4 years that we have had any issues?
Any help is gratefully appreciated. Thanks fellow campers

The LP detector beeps when the battery is low. Propane is said to be the best way to run fridge. I assume you reset your circuits. I'd say the there could be a bad board, or something from the sounds of it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had turned everything off and and then plugged it back in and the frig is working off of AC which is great but doesn't explain what happened at the camp ground?
Is there a way to start the propane manually? I left it on LP for an hour and it just continued to flash.
Thank you!

Your pod is 9 years old, did you ever clean the orifice and burner. If not you may be shocked how much carbon built up is in there.

Oh wow, no I haven't. I don't use the Propane very often just have it as a backup really. All cooking is done outside. After your tips I had better pay closer attention to it. Do know of a posting on where ot find it and how to clean it? Thanks for your help!Smile

You have the same year Pod as we do.  If you need to replace the burner you are going to be disappointed in what Dometic charges for the burner.  It's unreasonably expensive.  And, given the fact that Dometic considers appliances that old obsolete, you may find that more things are going to fail.  You may want to consider replacing the whole thing rather than trying to chase problems with the Dometic.  We ended up buying a Norcold from Amazon and it has turned out to be a satisfactory solution.
