If you are a newbie to R-Pods or this is your first travel trailer, I finally got around to putting together a video on dealing with public dump stations. It can be a bit stressful especially with people in line behind you and you learning how to effectively dump your tanks. This is my process and I know it will differ from some of my R-Pod peers on the site. As always, I appreciate comments and interaction.  ~PP

John,

Very informative for members as always. Only thing I would mention is I use a Johnny Chock to fill black tank to higher level if necessary before leaving the campsite. That way when I get to dump I have a 1/2 to 3/4 full black tank.

mcarter, great point that I forgot to mention in the video. Always better to have more in the tank(s) when dumping. The Johnny Chock looks like an interesting addition to help with the process. Thanks.

We used a JC for the Pod.. But, also, a standard Tervis glass will wedge between the back wall and the flush handle to add water also. The new camper bathroom sink is plumbed to the black tank, so we just open the faucet as needed..

Great video.  One thing to also not forget is to make sure to pick up the sewer hose after disconnecting and allow all liquid to drain out.  The low spots can hold a lot of liquid.....goes without saying.  It was almost too easy to not do this as I was getting ready to pick up the whole hose and realized there was some leftover!  Did my first 2 public CG dumps a few weeks ago.  I felt very efficient but still was in the 15 minute range.  Even had the wife inside adding the treatment and water as I was cleaning up.  It's surprising how much time it takes to totally dump the tanks.

Thanks for your efforts and info!!

Picking up our first trailer next week and going camping a few days after! I'm glad I came across your video because I was dreading how to do this portion! Thank you!
