This is pretty much my first post here.  We live in St. John's, Newfoundland and I've probably read 80% of the posts on here.  I've been a lurker for 4 years, but figured it was time to make an account.  We started out with a used 2012 RP177 and kept it only a year, as the 179 came out and we liked that floor plan way more.  We began towing the 179 with a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, which could on paper do the job, but the fuel economy was horrible and performance wasn't great.  I think the only trip we used it on yielded 28+L/100km.  We then got a 2009 Ram 5.7 and things were much better.  Last year we upgraded to a 2016 Ram Rebel.  We have a lot of hills here, so I don't think I'd ever say i don't know the pod is there, but it does well at 100-110km/h, regardless of wind, which we also have a lot of.  I usually get around 20L/100km towing, or around 12 mpg imperial.

Oh, here's our mod list, based almost entirely on work we've seen others do on here:

Shelves in wardrobe

Extra pantry shelves

Battery powered stove igniter

Residential kitchen faucet

Dual batteries

Bottle opener near door

Residential (hand) shower head

Interior speakers upgraded to JBL

Bathroom sink removal

TV runs on 12v inverter now

LCD voltmeter

Inverter near TV

Shower diverter (bathroom faucet with no "faucet" part)

29" TV with swing mount - yes, it fits!

Reverse bathroom door - now opens the other way - haven't seen this done by anyone else

Removed most of TV antenna

Installed double kitchen sink

Window in door

Wireless fridge monitor

Outdoor temp monitor

Hoppy hitch level

12v socket on battery box

Dual flexco step

Fantastic fan 7350 upgrade

Removed extra seat (sometimes it goes back in, depending on our mood)

Memory foam pad on bed (really, we need a new mattress - this is only a so-so mod)

Shower caddy installed in shower

Glass Shelf over bed (under TV)

Shoe storage in remaining dinette seat (plywood over wires)

Dual propane with auto changeover regulator

Bigger wardrobe drawers - now much deeper, taller and sturdier

We spend a lot of time off-grid and use a Yamaha 2400ishc generator, which has no issue running anything on the trailer, as long as you know all the loads currently on.

Welcome! Good work on your mods and thanks for sharing them. About the bathroom door, do you mean you moved the hinges to the other side so that it now opens towards the bed?

Yes.  I actually ended up flipping the door and simply screwing the hinges into the opposite door jamb.  Not sure why it doesn't come that way from the factory.

Welcome to the group.  That's an impressive list of mods. I'd love to see some pictures.  I may bother you with more questions on some of these as well.
