Purchased 2017 179 in June but this is first time we stayed at park with city water connection.  Have used fresh water tank on all other trips.  My question is; Does fresh water tank need to be empty when using city water connection?  My fresh water tank is full and when I connect to city water, water leaks out from the fresh water cap directly above the city water connector.  Instruction manual states that fresh water tank is bypassed when using city water connection.  Thanks in advance for help!

99.99% answer is someone turned on the pump while hooked to city water, caused an issue with the one way valve.

Turn off city water at spigot. Open a tap to relieve pressure. Turn on pump, let it run a few seconds and turn off, repeat a couple times. Then leave pump off and turn spigot back on.

If, in the rare case you fall in the .01% that actually have pump issue, get back to us.

Thats a bummer.  hopefully you turned the pump on and off several times while the city water was off like he suggested.  the bypass valve can get stuck open and allow city water into the fresh tank. so dont give up tp early. the action of the pump kicking on and off will break the bypass valve free and stop the fresh tank from filling. Its almost always what is wrong

Since your FW holding tank is full.. to get through the weekend, just turn off the city water, and run on the pump, maybe it will reset itself over the weekend. If it doesn't, then the front of the pump housing needs to be replaced. Since it should be warranty, they will just change the whole pump.

Just a follow up to city water issue.  Took pod back to dealer and they replaced entire water pump.  Works like a champ now.
