Being new to RVing I was wondering about service you receive from your dealer. The dealer I bought from you have to schedule about 2 weeks in advance for just an appointment and no estimate of how long they will keep it to make the repairs. What has me worried is what if you are 300 miles from home and need service from a dealer? Do travelers get moved to the head of the line? I would hate to have to leave the RV for a couple of weeks plus ruin a trip.

A lot of the campground we have stayed at will have numbers for mobile repair people. We have used once once,they came right out and fixed the problem on site. They had parts and stuff. I was really happy with the time/ repair/cost

My Garmin tells me where "RV Services" are located. AND I have roadside assistance with insurance carrier. My concern was something happening that prevents me getting to services. I have back up plans, I carry a cooler, generator, a BBQ grill and tools.

Our dealer is 100 miles from us.  We knew all about the issues of not buying local and that RV dealers are not like car dealers.  That being said we were on a trip and had a few issues so we called the dealer and said can we come in that day as we would be passing through on our return from a trip.  They said they are four weeks out on appointments but would do their best if we came in.  We decided instead of begging them we would just drop off the RV and come back.  It took them two weeks to get to it and we came out to get it and just turned it into another trip.  We will look for alternative places to fix the RPOD but it if is purely a build issue we know we will have to drive the 2 1/2 hours and cannot go to a local RPOD dealer one hour away as they said they would not do warranty work on an RV they did not sell.
