I have camped in just a sleeping bag, then a tent, then a popup trailer, then a 38' Diesel motorhome and now an 18' R-Pod.

Back in 2001 we lived in NW Pennsylvania, up by Lake Erie.  That year the doctor told me I would have to retire.  I was 54 years old.  So the wife retired from the VA and we decided to sell the house and hit the road in the Dutch Star motorhome.  We traveled year around for the next 6 years.  Just the 2 of us and a cat.

In April 2007 we were down in the Florida Keys checking things out and left there, coming up the east coast of Florida to visit my stepdaughter that moved from Louisville, KY to Saint Augustine, FL.  We always love this area.  So we bought a house.  Two days after signing the papers we headed for Alaska!  We got back to Saint Augustine at the end of September and moved into a house with nothing in it!  A few months later we sold the motorhome.

Now we are up to 2009.  I had the camping bug pretty bad and wanted back out there again.  I also love driving my Jeep Liberty off road.  Hmmmm, why not combine both of them?  Along comes this thing called an R-Pod.  AND...you can order a lift kit for it!Smile  Now I can tow my camper off road when I go trail riding overnight.

That is basically it!

I'm moving the stories that were made in my thread to their own so the stories aren't missed...
