What hitch are Rpodders using I am getting a 2018 180 will I need sway control ? WDH I will be towing with F150 pick up ?

The consensus around is that sway control is more important than WDH especially if using a F150 as tow vehicle.  I think the Fastway E2 with 600 lb is the most popular as it has 2 point anti sway and WDH.  Others use the equalizer or Blux Ox but my dealer refused to sell those to me saying it was overkill for a lightweight RPOD so we went with the E2 and it was great pulling it last week over the Allegany mountains through PA on Route 30 with warnings for trucks to avoid or go no faster than 20 mph

With a 4X4 chevy and a K1500 rating, 7000 lbs of capacity I have a sway control, no WDH. Works fine. I have no need for a WDH.

One advantage to using a WDH with built-in sway control is you don't have to worry about disconnecting the sway bar when backing up. My wife managed to rip the ball on the A-frame side of our regular sway bar clean off; the screws just ripped out of the A-frame. We switched to the E2 and haven't looked back.

I use the Andersen No-Sway Weight Distribution Hitch and really am happy with it.

I've had one panic stop from 65 with truck tires squealing and the trailer tracked perfectly.
It's also quite easy to unhitch when leaving the Pod at the camp site.

I second the Anderson for light trailers. Anything under 5000 pounds and it works well at anti-porpoising (bounce). Never had sway problems at 65 mph using the Andersen (never had sway problems before using it either).

Over 500 pounds trailer tongue weight and I don't recommend it anymore. I had installed a brand new Andersen on my new trailer (4644 pounds) and it did not distribute much weight from the rear SUV axle as it should have, I cranked it up until I couldn't even remove the triangle plate anymore, and it only moved 200 pounds from the rear axle..Not enough for me. I'll be getting a 750 pound Blue Ox in the future.

Likewise, we have the E2 with our F-150, and the pod tracks like it should. We just did a week long trip through narrow, winding roads, and never a problem. Had one or two "not quite emergency" stops when someone pulled out in front of us, and proceeded to stop for who knows what. Applying the binders worked perfectly.

When we put our pod away, and even when parking in a camping spot, we sometimes disconnect the WDH bars. It works well, and I've gotten pretty good at setting it up. Very quick, very easy.
