I spent the better part of a month reading the forum and after a second trip to the local dealer our 2017 Rpod is parked in our driveway.

The decision to buy the Rpod was made easier after I read some of the abundance of information posted by the forum members.  I saw that I wouldn't be "out there" alone as I tried to figure out how to make the most of it's features and how to best take care of it and for that I thank you all.

SC has 44 State parks the closest is about 20 minutes away and most of the rest are within a 3 hour drive for us so we have lots of places to get our feet wet.

Welcome to this forum.  It has been mighty helpful to me for many years, entertaining as well.  Enjoy your 178.

Just up north of you in Concord, NC.  Love the Hunting Island but hard to get into.  Huntington is also nice.  SC does have great parks.
Just got our 179 in March and loving it.  Been on 2 trips so far and trying to plan more.  Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcomes to the forum folks.

Our use of the Rpod will be limited to picnics for the time being since we provide Elder Care to Fonya's 93 year old mother.  She can get in and out with help but over nighting is beyond her ability.

We went ahead and bought the Rpod now so we can take her on day trips and she won't be cooped up in the house all the time.  I plan to rent a camping space for one night at a park, Hook up the electricity so we will have air cooling during the heat of the summer, then we will pull up stakes after supper and head home.

Being retired means we can hit the parks in the middle of the week and miss some of the crowds and we will have a chance to get a handle on everything before we hit the road for trips.
