Greetings R Podders!

After months of waiting - we are going to pick up our 178 on Saturday!  We picked the 178 so we would have a "family" dining space but are a bit worried about storage.  The Mods and other information on this website have been wonderful so really appreciate all of the tips.

Wish us luck - we don't know what to expect except that the mattress is generally agreed to be uncomfortable but otherwise, folks are having a blast on their R Pod Adventures.

We have our shakedown planned over Memorial weekend and are going to try to practice simplicity and take as little as possible on the first trip. We figure this will flush out what we really need (since storage is so tight on the 178).   We are pretty clueless so this could be relaxing OR frustrating.

Hope to see some Podders on the road!

Welcome and congratulations on your new POD! You will love it! Smart idea not overdoing the packing for your first trip. Make a packing list and then make two lists during your trip: 1) what you needed and forgot to bring, and 2) what we brought and don't really need. You'll fine-tune your packing with more experience! Have fun!!

There are lots of checklists on the internet other people have taken the time to make.

http://www.rv-camping.org/checklist/

Between that and pinterest you will get lots of "wisdom" of other campers.  Read enough of them and you will get a "feel" for what works for you.   POD'ers know what its like to have so little space and make the most of better than anybody.

Thank you for the tips and checklist!  We have been packing for our first trip and so far so good on space.  We downsized our home last year and have learned a lot about how to manage with less.  Plus the Magic of Tidying principles really work.  My husband keeps mentioning we need to save space for food.  He isn't seeing where the chips and snack foods are going to go. Smile

Had a great trip and all the comments were spot on.  What a wonderful camper!  We are so happy with our choice.

Thanks all for encouragement and community.
