Hi all!  We aren't ponders just yet.  Waiting on DH's possible retirement in a few months, totally depends on the company that is in the processing of buying his plant.  We are hoping it is all settled around the end of June.  With that being said, we are looking at the 179 model.  We are so ready to get back on the road.

Does anybody know how often they do upgrades?  I know the 2017 1/2 is out now....when would the 2018 models come out?  It might be worth waiting, if they do any upgrades this year.

The 179 is a really nice model with a nice large kitchen area and a lot of storage. The 2018's will probably be coming out by the middle of the summer.

Welcome! We have the 2016 179. We have enjoyed it greatly. Right now, it is at the factory being repaired from an accident in December. I am looking forward to getting it back. We have missed out on our spring camping, but expect to have it in time for our big summer trip. I hope you enjoy yours when you get it as much as we enjoy ours.

Unfortunately Forest River does not issue upcoming changes to the RPODS.  In addition with every production run they can make changes.  You will only know what you will get if you buy one from the dealers lot.  Otherwise if you order a future production run it can have changes (at no cost to you).  Since the Blue/Grey color is new it will not change for a couple of years.  In addition RPODS are not like cars.  Technically there is no such thing as a 2018 model.  There is NO year on the invoice form.  Only the date of manufacture is one the RV itself.  So they can make several changes in a single year.  What do you call that?  2017.5 and 2017.75? Also since they sell so fast it is rare for a dealer to have two different versions (for a example the older green model and the new blue one) on the lot at the same time forcing them to discount the older version.  So if you are ready to buy I would pull the trigger and forget about trying to predict what a future RPOD will look like.

We ordered our 179 a couple weeks ago, and we were told it will be titled as a 2018. They made a lot of changes to the 2017 1/2 model, so I suspect the changes this year will be minimal.
