I want to hardwire the Progressive Industries EMSHW30C surge protector into my 2017 R-pod, model 179, but I don't know how to access the power cord inside the unit. The manual that came with the camper is too generic and the Progressive Industries video is not much help if I can't access the cable. Can someone provide some pointers or photos, or do I need to have it installed by the dealer?

Its located behind the fuse box.  So in our 180 it is in the base of the dinette seat closest to the door.  We wanted to camp straight out from picking up the RV so we had the dealer do it (~$200).  If you can cut wires it is not difficult to do it yourself.  When I was thinking of doing it myself I remember seeing a video on it.  I would search YouTube.

Many 179 owners have mounted it in the bottom of the pantry area just above the power center. It can also be place behind the power center. When you pull the power center out, you will see the orange incoming feed wire.

Last year I installed a Progressive HW30C following instructions posted by another member. The instructions can be found on page 19, 5th topic from the top. Look for the post Installing a surge protector. He wrote an excellent pdf with pictures of every step. Followed them without issue.

Are you referring to the instructions that come with the unit or a different manual? What I received from the dealer is generic and says nothing about installing a surge projector on page 19.

Sorry about that. Page 19 of this forum. One of the members posted instructions that I believe were his own. Has pictures of every step, very easy to follow.
