+1 - I always flush with a wand and clean screens at start of every season, I also use an adjustable water pressure hook-up.

The "debris" is chunks from you zinc anode in the water heater.
Might want to check that... And flush the water heater with a wand. |

Thanks for posting this. Just ran into this same problem on my new 179 while out camping. Pulled the screen apart and found considerable construction debris causing obstructions! Much better now.

When in a full service campground, not worried about gray tank filling. When truly boondocking, I do my dishes in a pan or use the outside shower faucet for light clean up. My experience has been the water pressure is more dependent upon the water pressure from the spigot, and if that is to low I fill the fresh water tank and use the water pump. I look for 45lbs when I set up. I took my faucet apart after this post, it has one screen.

I think FurPod got it right...they are there to partially restrict flow to limit water use and keep the grey water tank From filling too quickly. Our water flow at the sink had slowed to only a small trickle which caused me to check the screens. I originally removed two of the three screens, but replaced them after FurPod's analysis. Now I have acceptable, but somewhat restricted flow. I guess that it does not take much debris and three screens to really slow the flow.

Thank you for your post. I went out and checked my 177, and i had 4 screens.
Why would they do that. |

I noted that we have 3 screens in ours as well. Since our well water is very clear, and we don't use anyone else's water, we have never had an issue with the screens plugging up. I do check them however once/year just to make sure.

Thanks, FurPod! That makes sense. Perhaps, the combination of the three screens and a little debris caused water flow to slow to a trickle. I might try the screens again.

The stacking of the screens IS intentional. When living with a 30gallon holding tank, limiting flow is a plus. If you always camp with FHU's.. then not an issue.

The good part is that you now have 2 spares.
