I'm a newbie, not only to an R-Pod but to travel trailering at all. I ran fresh city water into my 2015 R-Pod 171 and water comes out of the faucets but the sensor still registers as empty. I assume the sensor isn't working. How do you know whether the tank is full if the sensor doesn't work?

Did you fill the holding tank?  Or did you just hook up to city water, which does not fill the tank?

Ooooh. I just hooked up the city water. How do you fill the holding tank?

On my 179 it's labeled "Fresh Water Connection".  It's not really a connection, it's a fill port.

The gauge and sensor is for your holding tanks. It has nothing to do with the city water connection. There is no gauge for that. If there is adequate pressure the city water hookup works great. If there is not adequate pressure at the campground you must fill your fresh water holding tank up and turn the water pump on. If you are using city water leave the pump off.

Gotcha. Thanks!  BTW, just thinking then when hooked up to city water does the hot water tank fill?  I read somewhere that it does when filling the tank.  Wish I had a manual!

Yes it does fill the hot water tank. Open the hot water side and draw the air out. You can go outside and pull the pressure relief valve to check it. If water comes out it is full. Don't turn the hot water switches on unless you know there is water in the tank. The inside one is propane ( quicker recovery) and the outside switch is for the electric heating element when you have ground power. Use both if you want the fastest recovery. Don't forget to turn them off when you are through camping so you don't burn the element out.

The hot water tank fills when you are using city water or the holding tank, with pump on, provided you have valves in correct position.
