We love our new R-pod! My biggest concern is that I'll get to used to cushy camping after a lifetime of backpacking & rugged dispersed camping, and which at least for now I want to also continue :-) So  we're both excited that we'll be doing both for awhile, until it's no longer fun to rough it by which point we'll be well-used to the comforts of R-Pod. So far we've lived in our new trailer only on our own land; moving it around, hooking & un-hooking, plugging & un-plugging and generally checking out everything we can think of to check; as well as hauling it up and down our coast mountains just for the experience. We'll soon be taking it on the road for several days and really looking forward to it; and have several more adventures planned. Glad to have found this forum, thank you already for all the great information and camaraderie!

Congratulations!

There was a day when I swore that I would never be caught dead in any sort of RV!    However, the world turns and things change. It's kind of nice to sleep in comfort and awake more rested. I better enjoy the other activities. Being able to shower is a definite plus, too.

The "soft" side of camping ain't too bad after all.

Thanks all for the welcome! And agreed David, change is inevitable and if I'm lucky enough to keep getting older I'll be glad that I learned how to do cushy camping Smile

To our Live2Camp friends,  Congratulations on your purchase!  No worries and don't feel bad about going 'soft.'  We still enjoy hiking and plan to do a lot of that this September when we go to RMNP for a couple weeks.  After hiking in the mountains all day, it is a welcome relief to get to a warm, dry, cozy R-POD at the end of the day.  It wasn't that many years ago (2013) when we were forced to evacuate RMNP in September because of all the flooding (Big Thompson).  A lot of hiking was done in the rain, tenters on either side of us left early, they were flooded out while we continued to be high, dry, warm, and cozy.  I don't miss the days of wet canvas slapping me in the face during the night as i tried to sleep or packing a wet tent away or unpacking a wet tent hoping it would dry out before we would go to sleep that evening.

Yay! Congrats on your new Pod! We also moved up to RPod after years of tent camping. I agree with others, nothing beats that hot shower, soft bed (after you replace the stock mattress LOL) and warmth in the morning!! We love our 179 and hope you love yours too! Happy camping!
