I would like to see some sort of exhaust fan or hood for the gas stove. We cooked some sausage and the smoke you get from the sausage kept setting the smoke detector off. I turned the shower exhaust fan on hi and it help a little. Anybody have any suggestions for a fix?

I have a little Weber gas grill outside that I use for those breakfast meats, well, almost all meats.  It keeps the greasy air out of the camper and saves the beep beep beep.  Sometimes I cook the sausage or bacon the night before, and just reheat it in the camper.

Not a perfect solution, just what I found works for me.

It was our first trip so we were trying out all the appliances. I have a 14" Webber also that I used for the first time. I am use to a big grill but it cooked our potatoes and meat just fine. Took a little longer but worked great. We will cook more outside than in.

I have it hooked to a 1 gal propane bottle.  The 1 gallon bottle is a backup to the main system also.  One note though on using the bigger bottles with the adapter hose.  Hook up the hose to both the grill and the tank.  Have the grill OFF and slowly open the bottle.  Let it sit for a couple minutes before turning on the grill and lighting it.  If you go to fast, the safety valve in the tank shuts off the gas flow.

In our 179, the stove is right next to the door, so I found just leaving the outer door open vented the smoke pretty well. We still usually end up taking down the smoke detector and throwing it on the bed until we're through.

I have gone to cooking bacon etc at home and freezing it, then taking it along to warm up.

We also put the detector up with velcro, so we can remove it.  I keep thinking I'm going to rig a 5 minute timer to the detector that will allow me to disable it.

Had the door open. Stove on the left when you walk in. Not sure how the detector is mounted. Came installed. There was a breeze so it might have blown it back into the camper. It is when it is really raining. I have a few MRE's but not many. I know we can nuke our food or stick it in the oven and that is okay. I think I will buy a small fan and place it just past the stove to the door side and suck any off odors and smoke out the door. There is an outlet right below.

Above our house stove we have a hood that does not exhaust to the outside. Uses a charcoal filter. Does a great job. Might look into installing a small hood similar to it.

I usually crack the kitchen slide window to help draw cooking steam, and other airy effects out the bathroom fan. Make sure all other windows are closed to help maximize it worth. God luck
