Ok so It's not total a skylight but pretty close to one.  I pulled off the cover on our Fantastic Fan and replaced it with a clear unit.  Lets in so much more light now!  It is very easy to install as it took more time to get the ladder than it did to unscrew the 4 screws holding it on and replacing the cover.

Part number is - Dome Kit - Clear K1020-00
from the  catalog http://www.fantasticvent.com/faq/knowledge_base/manuals/manuals_assests/OEM%20cat.pdf

Just go to the website for the phone number www.fantasticvent.com/where_buy/where_to_buy.html

Is it a skylight or a moonroof? Wink

What ever- it is a good idea that should have come with the rpod because I bet there is no difference in price.

Don't I recall that someone said Fantastic Fan sent it as a replacement to them for free? Was that you? I think I'll try and give them a call.

Did you take pictures of how dark it was on the inside before you replaced it?  Thanks for sharing.

No I did not get this for free I think it cost me about $30.00 to do but well worth it.  Fantastic Fan gave me a name of place to call in Florida and they shipped it pretty quick.  I will try to find the company information and post it.

i tried before and after pictures you can see the one before picture looking up from the inside.  When I replaced it the sun was beating on the camper and the light flooded the picture.  Really does lighten up the camper.

We have the 172 and wish it had more light to the front.  A window in the door would help alot too.  Just wish I knew someone who could do it for us.

I just did this mod last weekend and it made a HUGE difference. It's like the cover is open all the time. We barely have to use the bathroom light (except in the middle of the night). We got our's from Amazon:

took a couple minutes and a screwdriver to swap it out

Sounds great.  However, after all these years, I seem to know where everything is.  At this age, not sure I want to see myself any better than in poor light.  Of course, it's a personal thing.  Enjoy your new clear covers.  Safe Travels.
