I want to mount a bike rack with 2 bikes in place of the spare tire on my new 179 Rpod and mount the spare on the front tongue. The bikes and rack are about 100 pounds and the spare and mount are 70 pounds. I am new at this. Is there a problem with the warranty? Is this a reasonable plan?

Been using this for 3+ years. Can't imagine anything better and I learned it right here from someone a lot older and wiser than me. Wink

Look on the hitch I believe it has 150 lb limit.I have been using it for my bikes on My 179 for 3 years also, no problems.I keep my spare in the back of my truck.

Of coarse FR.only recommends their rack, I have Swaggman double and have had no issues, weighs about 35lbs.

Weight is important. The FR sold rack is really the Highland Sportwing http://www.amazon.com/Highland-1375100-SportWing-Mounted-Carrier/dp/B004002CS4/ref=sr_1_33?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1491406148&sr=1-33&keywords=bike+rack+for+car&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A5133649011%2Cp_n_format_browse-bin%3A491459011
It's very light but a bit of a PITA to use, requiring strapping the tires to keep them from banging around. I used it for a while with two bikes and it worked OK. There are ways to carry the spare tire on the tongue. The best solution was the Swagman between the trailer and car (Note to Fred: Older? Yes; Wiser? Jury's still out). It's handy to have the bikes on the TV when you unhitch.

It is hard to tell from the above picture. Is a second 2 inch receiver mounted on the car for this bike rack to be attached to?

The bike rack is a sleeve that goes on the shank between the receiver and the ball mount. You may need a longer shank to accommodate the sleeve. The sleeve and rack stay with the TV when the trailer is uncoupled.

Yes, like Obi-Wan Charlie says, you need about 2" space for Swagman sleeve. My Reese has just enough:
