Hogone,

No negatives:) My wife has an affectionate side for strays. Maybe why she married me. We currently have a feral cat, that has in my wife's mind been converted to house cat. Her name is "Kitty", I call her "Marie Laveau", I think she's possessed. She is an incredible mole, mouser and squirrel controller. I can't imagine taking her camping, because she comes and goes as she pleases, and normally comes home to eat or present me with what she hunted that day. Actually a very good cat, but the epitome of a free spirit. We have an English Bulldog we do take with us, the difference being he listens. Kind of.

We full-time in a 179 with 1 5 year old cat and 2 older kittens. Our cat has always ridden in our TV. He settles down on a cardboard scratching "recliner" and sleeps or looks out the window. When we first traveled with the kittens they were together in a crate. A few weeks ago, we decided to let them out of the crate and now they also are free to move about. One kitten cries off and on during our travels, but settles down after a bit. The other kitten is fine. We bought two more of the cardboard "recliners" so all 3 have one. We keep a litter box and water and treats in the TV. Overall it is pretty uneventful. We keep harnesses and leashes on each category so it's easy to grab them if they try to escape. Two of the 3 like the outdoors so we'll walk them a bit at rest stops.

Based on the way our two kittens tear around, I'd be afraid to have them loose in the TV. One likes to use me as an obstacle, digging in his rather sharp rear claws to push off as he traverses me. It's not something I'd like to happen in traffic especially.

Just a suggestion for your Rpod cat travels.
No hard feelings, I hope.
