Has anyone installed the BAL Hide A Spare tire carrier on their R Pod? Which one did you use and did you take pictures? Any info appreciated.

Yes. We have the 179, which would be similar to your 180. I mounted it between the steps and the rear stabilizers, behind the black water tank. On the 180, I think the tanks may be located differently than in the 179, so where I mounted it may not work for you. I actually removed ours in preparation for it to go to the factory for repairs. Given that we now have a pickup truck for carrying things like propane, generator, and gasoline, the need for it isn't as great as before. Check chetc's post for a good how to.
I read it then bought one and installed it using his instructions. Only change was the hood River had wider tires so I had to lower both brackets. There's a picture in my "all my 180 mods" post. rgds John
