What is your experience with 3M Command Strip products? I use them all over my home and office. How well do they stick to the various surfaces in the RPod?

Have a bunch of them stuck to walls. Clean the surface with alcohol first,

I know some people who have put up a shelf above the bed on the 179 have used Command strips to hold the end brackets to the wall. We've made pretty extensive use of Command hooks and picture hanging strips.

Another 3M product that is very good is their 5200 Marine caulk.  I'm going to put an opening porthole in our 172 door that I got from a marine supply, and just bought a tube of the caulk to seal it.  I used it for years for bedding and sealing sailboat deck hardware where it is exposed to intense sunlight and salt water.  The stuff is indestructible.

Ok for temporary mounts, not so much for long term permanent. Be aware that some of the strips may pull the vinyl covering away from the wall forming a bubble.
