On my recent purchase of a 2010 rpod 175 ....at 6'2" and over 250#Ouch......I don't like the spongy floor..thinking of 3/4"CDX pine plywood over the floor except under the bed area?? Any suggestion how to tackle this. I want to make it looks like it was never done. The couch/ slide would go over it with no problem I do not believe. BUT I do not want to tear out the existing floor ~~~ just over lay and re vinyl~~THank for your help GUYS!!!!

You cannot tear out the existing floor. It's a plywood, aluminum frame, foam filled sandwich. All glued together to be a structural panel. Whatever you "build" needs to be done on top of what is there now. Remember, at 6'2", every bit of height you add to the floor.. lowers the ceiling..

Snaplock type floating floors have been used with great success in the the Pod and Airstream community for years, exactly for this issue.

If you are going to use plywood, use a very high quality, muti-ply hardwood sheet. As a cabinet maker and carpenter, I can assure you that it will be much stiffer then a pine ply panel.

Plywood...

I have the 178 and have noticed one section of the flooring pops almost like stepping on egg shells.  I took it into the Dealer, they said they fixed it by heating the floor and allowing the glue to fill in the empty pockets.  I noticed last night after washing and waxing the pod that the floor noise is coming back.  I have until June 20 to meet my one year warranty.  Anyone else have flooring issues like this?  Any suggestions or avenues for me to take to resolve this issue?

well the pod is still has a soft floor....decided not to put the plywood down as there is nothing to screw it down toConfused. Got 2 inch steel square tubing --going to weld two L tabs to the end of steel tube and use screws to put a extra brace under floor in front of sink/stove...the other soft spot in at the bed ---but cannot brace there due to tanks underneath .....so only one brace going in at this time... i do not like the soft floor in the podOuch

Bought my 172 in Jan right after the big snow storm in the North. Was delivered to SC and I could tell road salt had been on the RV. As I was pulling away, the maintenance shop man said " Get it undercoated". I was under there today and rust has started everywhere. Next week, wire brush and Rust Oleum. Then spray on rubber. Change subj. Do you know how the cable from TV antenna is ran over to the microwave? Going to add WIFI Extender.
Happy Traveling,
Tom
