Yeah...two storms back to back! You guys are really getting hammered.
Here, with our unusually warmish temps, hopefully we're on the path to the long slow melt into spring....no flooding that way.
Stay close to home! On the bright side we're getting closer to podding time.

Sounds like fun, Kind of neat to go inside the pod, with the heat on of course and look out and see snow up to or above the windows, we have done that here in northern Michigan.  Makes for one of those unforgettable dates.  Good thing your snow blower works!  That is one thing I make sure is good to go after my last use of it, usually in mid or late March.  Inspect/check belts, change oil.  Don't do anything with the gas as I use RV gas, the stuff we used to buy in the 60's and 70's before they added ethanol.  Great octane and goes a lonnnnng time before turning sour.  My leaf blower only gets used in October, when done I will fill it with RV gas and it is good to go until the next October.  This year when I got it out I put it on choke and gave it one pull, started on the first pull, pretty good for an old leaf blower.

Hopefully, it will all be a memory by the time we head up to Vermont this summer. At least you are getting snow and not ice. We had ice in January. It wasn't fun.

No-ethanol gas is just the thing. There is only one station in town that sells it. It costs a lot more than regular, but my small engines do much better. I do use Sta-Bil in it though.

Sorry for the thread hijack but speaking of snow, what is the best way to determine when it is safe to dewinterize? Aside from the area of the country you live in do you all use long term temp projections of some sort? Look at the weather channel? Farmers almanac? What if I think it is safe and I dewinterize and then we get a cold snap? How vulnerable am I really to toasting my plumbing system? If it freezes up does that necessarily mean damage to the system?

When the weather is no longer expected to do more than dip below freezing at night. The Pod's plumbing will survive an overnight freeze into the 20's if there is heat in the pod just fine. Mine has done so. The heat will keep the pipes inside from freezing. If the fresh water tank is full, it takes more than an overnight freeze to freeze up. It would take an extended freezing spell to do so.

On our last trip, we had a full tank and encountered freezing weather across Texas. The water line (probably the line from the tank to the pump) froze. It did thaw the next day with no harm. The flexible pipe can flex unlike copper or rigid tubing which can't. Those tend to split.

Practically speaking, if you are not expecting to use it, then wait until you get ready to make your first trip to dewinterize. Then you won't have to worry about it.
