Hi everyone,
I am in the process of getting a new 171 and am excited for it, but I was wondering if some people could chime in and offer me some advice.
I am not new to camping, and am currently in the process of selling my Scamp camper. I have used a 2008 Nissan Quest to tow it now for 8 years and have had no problems. What can I expect in performance and handling characteristics going from a Scamp to a 171 Pod. Everything is well within specs for towing the 171 but I hear different opinions and wanted if any of the people on the forum who tow with a minivan regularly can give me some advice and their experiences, and what I can expect or if I am making a mistake buying the  Rpod.Ying Yang
       Thanks in advance.
                             Rob

Welcome to the group! Used to own a 171 and loved it. Upgraded to a 179 and still tow in with our Grand Caravan. We tow up and down the east coast. We have plenty of power and get pretty good mileage while towing.

Thanks that makes me feel more comfortable buying it. What is your avg mpg? We were getting 18 with the scamp.
Again thanks for the response!

We average 13.5 coming out of Vermont, as soon as we get down to the Massachusetts border we get 14.5-15.6 Once we get down near NJ we get 15-5-17 it really depends on the wind. We average 60-65 driving speed
