We are planning on the purchase of a 179 but our subaru forester will not tow. Have been looking at Honda Pilot EX-L v-6 and wondering if others have had good luck with this as tow vehicle?
Thanks, Billy Brown

Welcome to the group. There are several pilot owners here that should be able to answer all your question.

Billy, I'm looking at a 2017-18 ridgline. I've been asking Honda Pilot and ridgline owners the same question. I get a resounding YES. Many will say go bigger, and for many that's the answer. For me and my lifestyle, I'm about 99% sold on the Honda RL

If you are set on a Honda, consider the Ridgeline. What I have seen indicates it has a 5000 lb towing capacity and you will find the bed to be extremely useful for storing things like extra propane tanks, a generator, a gasoline can for extra generator gasoline, tools, muddy gear you don't want to put in the cab or in the R-Pod, etc.

We had been towing with a Ford Escape until we hit ice in Wyoming. We bought a used Nissan Frontier to continue our trip. We will keep the Frontier and sell the Escape as we found the pickup to be more useful than the SUV.

I had a 2013 pilot and had no problems, the new ones will tow more, 5000 lbs I believe.I wish I still had mine but my lease was up so I thought I would try a pick up so I could all a generator and other things in the back.

I would consider the pilot to be the low end of acceptable tow vehicles. I also agree the ridgeline is the better choice if your locked into honda. I really have to say that i am totally impressed with the product that nissan puts out for the money. The frontier and titan are both really great vehicles.
