Blue Highways- I was lucky enough to spot that problem, having been unlucky with another slide-out.  I had a piano hinge that would have done it, but chose to go with two smaller hinges instead.  This way, if I fail to notice something in that gap, the panel just swings out of the way - no damage done!

PodWa,

THANKS.. I copied and pasted to my list. I added a couple things because I have a POD mounted genset, battery box secure, propane tank secure, spare tire secure and of course tire pressure check. Drain valves closed.

For those with garages, kitchen items, external propane hose, garage door shut, and external tv secured.

Can't find this checklist you are referring to.  Can you repost?
Thanks ~

For those of us in the snow belt should the stabilizer jacks be extended to take up just enough weight to keep the frame flat if we receive a heavy snowfall that can't be cleared immediatly?

Even though I don't live in the snow belt, I do lower the stabilizers when it is home in our driveway. I don't see a down side in doing so.
