Just about ready to get the 179. I have a 2003 Kia Sedona to tow with. Has anyone towed with a Sedona? Owner's manual says 3200# max. We will later trade up but right now this is what we have.

You are really going to be pushing it with the Sedona. Our Escape is rated at 3500 lbs, which is the lowest I would go. As long as you are on relatively flat terrain, you would probably be okay, but it will really be challenged on hills and impossible in mountains. Ours has the 2L Ecoboost (turbocharged) engine which has a lot of horsepower and torque for its size. That is why we can tow with the Escape. We just bought the car a year ago, so we are in no position to trade right now. However, when we can, we will trade for something, preferably with a 5000 lb or better rating. Ideally, I would like to get a Diesel engine vehicle.

Thanks for your reply. We would most likely be on semi level terrain except when we go or leave our house that is on top of a small mountain.I guess I need to start looking for a vehicle with heavier towing capabilities. Bought this van new in '03 about time to trade up, right? Hope to be rpoding with the rest you by summer.

Just about everybody will suggest a TV with a towing capacity of at least 5000 pounds.
