Hello.

Maybe a year and a half after getting my 171, the alarm function on our Jensen radio went out, now about a year later, it doesn't work at all and I have taken it out. This is not all a bad thing, there is a lot of usable room behind the radio that has been wasted that I didn't know about.

I would like to know if this radio is unusually delicate for the rough and tumble of an RV? I've seen previous comments that the radio isn't very good (like it's 'junk') and I don't believe that my experience has contradicted that.

As people, we are quick to assume something is junk when if fact, we don't actually know why it failed.

In my opinion this Jensen is junk even when it is working properly.

I have have not had any problems either but the unit is difficult to operate and not user friendly. Additionally it is mounted in a position that makes it difficult to see for vertically challenged people like me (I realize this is not a Jensen issue). I'm my opinion it is just a poor design.

My Jensen has been in use since April of 2010, with no problems. It is still doing what it is supposed to do. Is there better stuff out there? Very probable. No more than I use it, it is OK for me.
