I give up. Can't figure how to use this site right. I'm sorry but this site is not user friendly, at least not for me. Too much back and forth. Can't figure out how to post things right, even with site help. Things disappear. I started using cut and paste cause I cannot figure out how to pick up my file and place it, (or is it post it?) in a topic? OR am I always making a new topic, or is it a post? I do a search and using the simplest words cannot find a topic I know I've read before. Lots of good info here. I am just having a hard time learning the ropes.

Please forgive me. First page-first line-Introduce yourself. Tell us about yourself and your r-pod.
click
Next page. Introduce yourself.     Nowhere on this page do I see how to Introduce Myself. What am I missing?
Is a new post always a new Topic? I haven't seen anything like categories breakdowns such as plumbing, A/C, cabinets, etc.. Is a topic a category? Maybe I am just making things overly complicated. Help?

In the  introduce yourself window New Topic is for you to introduce yourself, a new post is a new topic.
Before you click Introduce yourself go down 3 lines to Podmods, maintenance, tips and tricks. This is where you will find questions people have posted about specific items. Scroll down and click whatever interests you, there are 58 pages.  Use the search button up at the top the to search for keywords like "cabinets" or A/C.  A straight Category breakdown would be nice but the conversations wander and things would end up out of place ( in my opinion) and the search works well for specific topics. Maybe start a topic " All thing plumbing"?
Good Luck!

Hi! We are in a 179 and see you tapped into the power feed from the slide. Would you tell us where/how you did this? Thanks.

I finished the project to install a wall switch for the overhead light nearest the door. By design or coincidence that light was on its own circuit and the wire ran from the panel to the ceiling right behind the existing switches just inside the door. I removed the old single switch controlling the porch light, pulled the wire matching the color I observed on the  circuit through the existing hole, clipped the hot wire and installed those ends and the porch light on a new double switch that I found on Amazon that nearly matched the style of the existing white slide out switch.

I wonder if Forest River originally intended to install a wall switch for that one light on some models then chose not to for whatever reason. Now my boys can reach the light switch and any of us can step inside the door at night without needing a flashlight for the first couple steps.

The light switch mod is nice. However, it will not work for our 179 as the switch for the porch light is not near the door, but is around the corner on the wall of the pantry near the bathroom door. I may be able to figure out how to put switches for the porch light and at least one interior light near the door, but it is one of those "when I get a round tuit" projects.
