My wife of 46 years and I just purchased a gently used 2015 RP 179, and so far, really like it. We had a pop-up years ago when my son was born, but have mostly back packers and remote location kayak campers since then.
I swung through a local campground yesterday to see if there were any sites available. There were not in the RV loop, but I noticed that out of the full RV loop, none of the units were R pods. Is that unusual?

I would say no, it is not unusual.

Same here! We just got back from a trip to New Hampshire, we were the only r-pod in the campground.
Though over the years, there have been a few instances where there was at least one other pod in the campground.

Congratulations!

Not a bit unusual. Even with thousands of them out there, I rarely see one...maybe once or twice per season.
