Why do my DVD's come through in black and white?  Is there anything that I can do to correct this problem?

Change the input on the television to AV. That should do it.

We had the same problem initially after picking it up.  After swapping out all of the cables and bypassing the wall jack and not fixing the problem, I cut the unit out of the rpod and brought it to the dealership and they tested it and it worked for them.  I brought it home and hooked it up again and it worked, so it could have been a loose connection or something not seated properly.  Good luck!
