Thanks Stu,
d I had just finished ordering a Tadi when I saw your post.   I will keep it in mind incase.   The link pointed to the mounting pad for the camera.   I'm guessing you're using the 7" 4U wireless camera and monitor. Really like the tip on how you installed the camera.

Happy trails backatya!

Hi Grey51,

Here's the link to the 4U Cam camera that I bought from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069LPT0A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

It's a little more expensive than some, but I was concerned that the camera had sufficient power to reach wirelessly through the pod and tow vehicle without too much loss of signal. This one seems to fill the bill in that regard.

Just got the running light spoiler recaulked and planning my first road trip/camping next weekend after the Memorial Day crowd.

Let me know how it goes.

Good luck and happy podding,
Stu

Sounds like you are well on your way, Stu. Glad you got it set to your satisfaction. One suggestion: When you recaulk, consider leaving a slight space on the bottom uncaulked to let any moisture drain. The rest of the seal and the lights may/will leak in the future so let it drain.

Thanks for your help Charlie. I was able to get the camera wired to the running light wiring bundle under the spoiler this morning. Camera is on when parking or headlights are on, which is OK as far as I'm concerned. Now have to recaulk the spoiler (maybe this evening when it cools off a bit).

Next project will be a 150 watt solar charging system and small inverter.

Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum!

If you could give some more details on the DVD problem....does it not even turn on? Does it not load disks, etc?

I no longer have my RPOD and mine was a 172 so I can't be specific. I ran the wire through the microwave cabinet and over to the side wall near the top rear of the Pod, then horizontally through the sidewall, up to the top outside, and across the top of the roof to the center. I don't know where your power panel is so you might have to cross the slide or door. You're on your own Angry . I prefer penetrating the sidewall because water can't puddle or run over the hole like on the roof. Probably the best would be going through the rear wall near a side wall, but under the spoiler, then run horizontally under the spoiler to the center and exit on the lower side of the spoiler. Nice, but you have to remove the spoiler and recaulk it. Other than that it doesn't make much difference how you get the wire there. Just make sure to seal the holes with silicone. If you run horizontally and outside for any length use a dab of silicone to keep the wire from flapping.
