Hello! My wife and I are getting our new Rpod on April 22nd. Just love the design. I like them all but wife wanted the dry bath. Got an great deal on a 2016 model since it appears dealers are unloading them for the 2017 coming in.

Had two tent trailers when we had kids and then a 21 foot travel trailer. Years have gone by and now retired thought we would venture out here and there. Will be towing with a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe (295 hp V6) limited/ultimate with towing package. 500 pound hitch rating and 5,000 pound towing ability.

This forum is great and look forward to sharing our adventures.

Patrick

We have had our 180 a little over a month.  It is perfect for the two of us. We are planning a trip from Texas to Seattle and back visiting as many National parks as possible.  Four to six weeks on the road.

We did a one night local camp the day we picked it up and a one week 1,500 mile trip to shack out as many bugs as possible.  No major issues, all systems worked well. Had a couple very minor fixes, the screen door latch screws were stripped.  I just drilled through and used a screws and nuts to secure it in place.  I also sheared off the bolt holding the shoe of the tong jack (that was my fault). All together about $1.00 in repairs.

Welcome to the club, and have many happy adventures.

Patrick,
Sounds like we have traveled the same path.  Started with a 2 man pup tent.  Then kids came and we upgraded to a 4 person Rockwood pop-up.  Then more kids and we upgraded to a 6 person Jayco pop-up.  Kids gone we upgrade to the ultimate, a 177 and that was back in 2011.  We have enjoyed every trip, short and long and have given countless tours to those 'curious' to see what it looks like inside.  Warren Buffet ought to give us a finders fee as there have been a number who had made a decision after the tour, to purchase a pod.  Many other veterans out there have done the same and ought to be recompensed as well.
Anyway I digress.  Enjoy your 180 and enjoy God's great outdoors.

Welcome!

That tow vehicle should suit you well. We tow our 179 with a 2012 Toyota Highlander V6 3.5L, which has the same weight specs but a little less horsepower.
