I have a 3 speed Fantastic Fan model 8000 (new model number 1200 or 801200) and I just measured the current draw. The lid was open all the way so no restrictions and the trailer door was open. This is almost 1/2 of what Fantastic Fan says it is in their catalog. Some other people on other forums had listed it as lower than they have in the catalog when they measured it

Speed 1 = 1.00 amps
Speed 2 = 1.30 amps
Speed 3 = 1.75 amps

Very close to what we saw when we checked it. Ours draws a bit more now, and draws steady, even when off. Looking/listening for it's remote control.

Fantastic fan company changed motors from a can motor to a pancake motor, we have one of each kind. When I called the manufacture he agreed the old style can shaped motor was better but no longer available at the time, and that was the reason for the change. This was about a year ago when I called the company.
