You sure can. Nothing to disconnect. Just do what you would normally do. I did a post on this hitch when I bought mine: E2 hitch It does the job at a reasonable price. |

Can you back-up with E2 attached?
If not what do you in-attach? |

Fastway E2 with the 600 lb bars is the way to go. Reasonably priced (amazon), fast shipping and easy to install if you have basic mechanical skills. My 2014/F150 handled the Pod great on our first trip in some massive headwinds. I will not tow without a WDH ever again. You will not be disappointed in the confidence it will give you when towing with a marginal TV such as a small SUV.

We tow a 179 with a friction sway bar from "Pro Series." We have never disconnected it when backing. It seems to minimize sway but when a big rig (especially an automobile transport) passes us on the highway at 70 plus miles an hour, we can feel it.

I am not sure what model the hitch is, the dealer installed it. But it works great for us. Dave |

I have the E2 hitch made by Fastway and have been pleased with it. (sway + weight distributing)
There are devises that provide sway control, only (no weight distribution) which can be added to a standard hitch assembly. Some have them and are satisfied. I understand that they must be disengaged prior to backing up. Do a "search" (upper right) on "sway" and/or "hitch". you should get a bunch of info. It is a frequent topic here. |

We just returned from a 1,500 mile trip to the Ozarks. We had a Equal-i-zer weight distribution /sway control installed on our new 180. We hit high cross winds and had many trucks pass us. No sway at all. My wife does the driving so I felt it was worth the piece of mind having a stable tow.
