Hi all,
I just bought a 2012 177 and have not used it yet. I am somewhat mystified as to where the slider motor actually sits. Is it something one can see, or is it sealed away ? Also, does it require lubrication ?

Thanks !

We have owned our 177 since March 2011.  The motor has never been lubricated.  I have looked at it in the past but have never seen a spot where it could be lubricated.

From under the slide you can see the track mechanism, a bit of silicone spray onto the track once or twice a year or more often when you are already maintaining your seals is never a bad idea.  Has been recommended by Forest River techs in the past.

On a 177, go to the bottom right kitchen cabinet panel, remove 4 screws, find slide motor and mechanism. This also where you go if you ever have to manually retract the slide.

That's what I was told, but when the slider is retracted you can into that same space right ? When I looked there I couldn't see a motor.

the motor is there. You can get to it with the slide in, or out. the motor doesn't move.
