   We prefer the North Rim also but just be aware that it doesn't open until May 15th.  If you are going that far I would also recommend that you consider hitting Zion and Bryce National Parks in Utah.  They are just a few hours drive from the North Rim turnoff at Jacob's Lake.  All three are spectacular in their own unique ways.  Well worth making the cycle.

	Definitely a great place to visit. Make sure to go to the North Rim, it is remote, and most visitors don't go there because of that BUT it is even more magnificent then the south rim where most people go. At the north rim you are right at the edge of the canyon and the hiking trails there are spectacular! We wish to visit again, even though we have been there a few times, to go on the raft ride on the Colorado River through the canyon put on by Creation Research. A lot of evidence for creation can be observed on this trip.

	The family (me, wife & 2 Yorkies) are heading from our home in southwestern Virginia to Grand Canyon in our 178. Planning to stop along the way as needed (rest areas, Walmarts, etc.). We have reservations at Trailer Village RV Park. I'm planning to do some hiking there. Coming home we're staying a few nights near Santa Fe at Trailer Village RV Resort. This forum has been a great resource for some trips I have made but this is the first trip for the whole "family". Wish us good luck and feel free to offer any suggestions you may have.
