Will be winter storing my 2015 RPod 178 for the first time.
Will be parked in my expanded driveway. Live in Ohio so it will see cold and snow. Removed the battery. Installed the RPod cover. Had unit winterized at dealership. Driveway is fairly level, do I (or should I) use the 4 stabilizers? Do I need wheel covers? Any other recommendations? Thanks, Irish Tom 2015 RPod 178 2014 Ford Explorer

For winterization I recommend connecting it to your TV and driving south until you are as close to Cuba as possible and remaining there with it until May

This is our 4th winter. 1: Was told not to use stabilizers as frost will heave each corner differently. Putting stress on frame when the opposite corners raise and others don't. 2: we put moth balls under the trailer on ground as first line of defence against mickey and his friends, inside we put LOTS of bounce dryer sheets EVERYWHERE, including outside storage areas. Plus bowls of cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil placed also everywhere. 3: Our pod is in a covered area so we don't use wheel covers, but as yours is outside, I might put on the wheel covers to protect the tires, from the winter sun. Eastern Ont. here so the sun isn't that much of a problem during winter months... :)

If you do a search on winterize on this board, you'll find a bunch of great past ideas, although you have most the bases covered already.
Level is only important when running the fridge. I would add ensuring you have sealed the smallest of holes under the trailer. I ripped apart stainless steel "brillo" style pads for the largest holes then great-stuff foam to fill the rest; Prop fridge door open to keep mold from growing; and I also add a large bucket of damp rid. |

We use charcoal briquettes in our bathroom to absorb moisture and reduce mold possibilities. Does damp rid do the same?

Since it's in your driveway, I'd consider the possibility of...Saturday college football or Sunday pro football all day in your own space with fridge and heat and nachos. The 178 dinette makes for a great Friday night poker party too! I'm in New jersey, got my pod next to the house and visit it often during the winter. Kinda fun. Always plugged in, always ready to go. I did have to chip some ice last year to break it free for February Florida trip.
