Topic: WINTER CAMPING-SLIDE OUT Posted: 05 Nov 2015 at 7:53pm |
really enjoy cold weather camping; have all the heating components i need whether dry or electric camping. question is (and i think i have asked this before); what do you all do with the slide out air breaches(on the bottom, not sides/top)? at least on mine you can see air breaches when pushed out from the inside under the sink. not horrible but obviously light coming through (and yes from the slide and not pipe breaches) from gasket areas. there is always mention of leaving a window or vent open, and its almost like this should be sufficient for air movement/ventilation, so maybe just don't worry about it. just looking for ideas. camping has just begun in east l missouri!!!! hogone oh by the way GO PACK

hogone! how's it going? We stuff the bottom of the slide, outside, with A/C window foam whether strip. You can buy at your favorite home center, it's cheap and easy to install and remove. Just stuff it in there after you extend, but don't forget to take it out before you pull the slide in. Good luck! Have fun!

Yep, I think I got the 3" x 3" and stuffed it in there...works pretty good. No Menards round here, wish there was...I stopped and checked out one in Iowa...liked it a lot. Good stuff, good deals.
