Greetings Podders!

Can anyone suggest a way to fix the condition shown below? I removed our stovetop to clean under it and broke the bracket off that holds the screw. Headed to the hardware store now, but I don't expect they will have anything like this there. Any ideas that don't involve a welder or metalworking capabilities?

Thanks!
Lisa

You might be able to use a metal bracket like the ones they sell for shelving.  If that doesn't work, it looks like replacing the 'bowl' here shouldn't be too difficult if they'll sell you that part.

I just had the same thing happen.  It is a Suburban cooktop and I found the part #online.  Cheap but shipping ruins that idea.  Went to a local RV parts dept. and gave them the part #, there was an updated number but it was the same piece.  I ordered 2 for $1.79 each.
Here is an online place with the part #.

Any local RV place should be able to order it.

I found a small angle bracket at the hardware store and attached it to the 'bowl' with a sheet metal screw.  Drilled a hole in the horizontal part to accept the hold down screw.
