We bought our 177 used about two years old.  The first time I pulled my low point drains I had to hold the line/fitting right above the cap with a pliers/vice-grips  (so it wouldn't twist the line coming through the floor) then twist the cap off with a pliers. Both caps came off real hard, that was the reason for the vice grips.  Had me a bit nervous.  Wacko

I disconnect the battery as soon as I park it for storage.  The battery will die in a few days if you don't.  The LP gas detector, inverter and fridge electronics all draw power from the battery.  I learned this the hard way.

you all have mentioned lessons learned but that has left me with more questions

what is a heat barrier? (under mattress?)

I can't budge the low point drain plugs and am afraid a plier would strip plastic nubs so how to get them off?

where do you put the surge protector- outside on ground electrical box? brand suggested and what size needed?

what all wirings /loose plumbing needs to be addressed preventatively and how to access
eg
electrical under sink, memos say to follow all plumbing but that's not intuitive to me

how long do you let unit sit before disconnecting battery?

thanks again learning lots from you
