In an article from WNDU TV (a NBC affiliate in South Bend, In) Forest River has been hit with a $5-million fine for violating requirements to report safety defects and other critical information to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and could face fines as high as $35M. A link to the online article follows.  http://www.wndu.com/home/headlines/Elkhart-County-RV-manufacturer-faces-up-to-35M-in-fines-for-safety-violations-312899371.html

Looks like it was for Rockwood, Flagstaff and Palomino brands:

I can definitely see how not reporting safety defects that might hurt sales or cause a recall would help with the bottom line....

More info here: http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/07/09/us-berkshirehathaway-forestriver-nhtsa-f-idUSKCN0PJ2RH20150709

Only a $5M fine for now with up to $30M more if the independent auditor finds any future offenses.
