Has anyone added a shelf to their Dometic #RM8501 fridge? After buying a NewAir ice maker, I removed the freezer compartment from my fridge so I will have more room for food & drinks. 

I just got off of the phone with Dometic asking about buying an additional shelf. A very nice person in the customer service department told me that it would be a special order item & would take a month to get it. That did not bother me, but when she said the price was $74 I almost dropped the phone! Thanks but no thanks!

Does anyone have any suggestions on making an additional shelf?

I would go to Lowes or whatever and look at the add in wire shelves for kitchen cabinets.

We took out the freezer in our frig to gain more room and used the white closet organizer wired shelving to make an extra shelve. Just cut to size, file rough edges and painted edges white. Looks and works great and cost less than $15 at Lowes Thumbs Up
