This past weekend, my wife, daughter and I took our new (to us) 2010 RP-171 to Lake Monroe Park in DeBary, FL about 20 minutes from home for a shakedown trip as we are total n00bs to camping. Our Ridgeline pulled the camper just fine without a WDH or sway bars.
The park was nice for a county-owned park, and all spots had water and 30 amp electric service. No sewer hookups but the park had a free dump station. No concrete pads, all had what I would call either coquina or crusher run gravel. The bath/shower houses were decent, I showered in the camper, but the missus and daughter used the bath houses. Cost was about $25 a night including taxes. The main draw at this park is that there is also boat ramps to Lake Monroe and the St. John's River. The campground was full for the 4th of July weekend. Some spots have good shade, others get full sun. We chose a shady spot, #5. There are about 25 spots available.
Since we don't have an R-Dome yet, we used our EZ-up canopy tent that worked great. Everything worked on the camper. The A/C was plenty cold like walking into a refrigerator from the 90-degree heat. Only issue we had is that we tripped the breaker when we had the A/C and electric water heater on and the missus tried to microwave something.
All in all a good trip, looking forward to some more camping adventures.
