you could also try and reset everything to factory setting, that should not require a password and will erase any passwords that are there and default settings should be everything like that is disabled.

Sounds like you got into the parental control section of the tv. Did you try backing out of the set up and starting over.

If it wasn't intentionally setup, you may be able to find the default password in the manual.

Never heard of that one.. My only *guess* would be that someone has turned on a child lock? I have never noticed one on a TV, only cable/satellite boxes etc. (I will admit to having no children)

My wife is out in the 179 for the first time. When she tried to do a channel search on the TV menu for the antennae, it would not let her go to that window without unlocking with a password first. I never had that problem and don't know what to tell her about fixing it. Any suggestions?
