I think I know what is going on with the flickering...You might need one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Curt-57004-Trailer-Light-Adapter/dp/B00IITX6KQ/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1430349671&sr=8-12&keywords=curt+adapter

A friend of mine has the same vehicle as yours and her lights flickered too. My Volvo lights flickered too, plus my wireless brake controller did not do well, with brakes pulsating if I remember correctly. The adapter above solved the problem for me and my friend. No flickering, or brake pulsating. It has to do with your vehicles sensitive electronics in that it wants to look for voltage drops if a lightbulb is out on the trailer. With LED lights, the cars can't see enough voltage drawn, and flicker results.

I hope someone can explain better, but the adapter worked for me. It is installed inline between the cable from the trailer and then into your car.

Ok, I think it is this one. Read the reviews for feedback from other users....I think this is the one which will solve your problem.
