Hey Guys.  Has anyone replaced the stock Jensen 19" TV with the 12 volt version?  It is the same size as the AC version and is supposed to sip energy.  Anyone had any experience with it? Also, I'm looking to replace the antenna power switch with a version that includes a 12 volt receptacle to power the TV.  Any thoughts on that as well?

I own the 12v version, but it came standard in the 181g.  We really don't ever use ours too much so I don't have a lot of info besides that it works.

Are you curious about it for times when you're boondocking or just in general?

I have the combo 12/120 volt and don't have the owners manual for it. When I was at the dealer it was picking up TV, but once I got home nothing. I would like to find a manual for it. When the button on the wall is on and shining red is that when the antenna is active? The coax is plugged into TV and not satellite. Any help would be appreciated. Just wondering if it isn't picking up a signal. All connections are tight.

The light means the booster is on. You need to then go into "setup" select "antenna" THEN do a channel search from the menu.

Thanks I'll give that a try. I can't remember seeing antenna in the set up menu but will look again.

why on earth would they put a 120v tv in? does anyone know if all the newest 2015 models are 12v? or is it hit and miss?

We just bought a 2015 Hood River edition 171 and it has a 120v TV . I share your perspective considering there are cheap televisions on the market that will do both. I find the ability to watch a DVD in a rain storm out in the boonies without having to fire up a generator a good thing.

They put in different tv's and entertainment systems based on floor plan and model. Most RV's have 120v televisions. Some pods do, some don't.

Most people who RV, do so with hook ups. That IS the target market, and that is who they cater to. A flat screen tv uses very little power, a 300w inverter will get your 120v tv up and running if so needed.

Besides hooking up directly to the battery then plugging the trailer in is there an easy way to plug in an inverter?
